A month of great people doing great things

A day in the life of a consultant can be a busy one packed with delivery, content writing, lots of executive coaching and even more client meetings.  Looking back on April and taking stock, we really didn’t stop - so a massive thanks to everyone who continues to support us - it really does means a lot.

A highlight included external OD facilitation with NHS West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts and the superb team of Asifa Ali and Sal Uka.  This is true succession planning with 20 senior leaders taking part in a 7-month Senior Leaders Programme.  The aim is for these delegates to be executives in the next 2-5 years.  Kicking off with induction we followed that up a couple of weeks later with a half day opening event, starting off with Rob Webster followed by Steve Russell.  The importance of developing executives for the future is never underestimated.  A great team of leaders who we are really enjoying supporting on their journey.

I was delighted to be invited to speak at the Skills Development Network Yorkshire & Humber Branch 2024 Commercial Procurement Conference.  The session covered coaching and mentoring - and the added bonus was catching up with ex-colleagues and making new friends.  Thank you to Laura Hill for inviting me to attend.

As you know, I’m a true believer that everyone deserves the right to be well-managed and well-led and the Future Leaders Scheme Module 1 offers just that.  Nice to take time out to support back-to-back the leadership programmes with the wonderful Judeline Nicholas with Coventry University at the beautiful The Hawkhills.  In-depth discussions, with an opportunity to critically reflect with their colleagues in a safe space.  Thank you to the delegates for two incredible programmes.

Thanks also to the South East Digital Skills Development Network for inviting me along to facilitate their away day.  The magic mix of passion, a desire to move forward and innovation aided a superb day.  Good to meet Lois Cavallaro Little Rosalind Knapp and Aasha Cowey face to face.

Finally I can’t end without reflecting on the brilliant work we’ve involved with in Oxford with the brilliant Gillian Ormston (MSc) (CMgr FCMI) and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley.  Months of work leading to an all staff awayday - even though this is a crucial time for them, they pressed pause which is never easy to do.  Thank you to everyone for your ideas and energy.  Simply put, great people doing great things.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed.  As always, drop us a line if you want to know more about the work we do.

All the best
Will
